Türkiye's BIST 100 index up at Wednesday open

BIST 100 index falls over 7 points from previous close

ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 2,554.28 points on Wednesday, rising 7.18 points, or 0.28%, from the previous close.

On Tuesday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed at 2,547.09 points, up 0.79%, with a daily trading volume of over 57 billion Turkish liras ($3.4 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 16.4287 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT), up from 16.3940 at Tuesday's close.

The euro/lira exchange rate increased to 17.6150 from 17.5630, while a British pound traded for 20.7055 liras, up from 20.7000 at the last close.

Brent crude oil sold for around $117.55 up 1.7% per barrel as of 10 a.m. local time.
