Turkiye's BIST 100 index up at weekly open

BIST 100 index increases 4.7 points from previous close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 2,180.21 points on Monday, up 4.7 or 0.2%, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was down 0.03% to close on Friday at 2,175.51 points, with a daily trading volume of 23.14 billion Turkish liras ($1.56 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped slightly to 14.8490 as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT), from 14.8530 at last week's close.

The euro/lira exchange rate also decreased to 16.2630 from 16.3600, while a British pound traded for 19.5380 liras, down from 19.6610 at the last close.

Brent crude oil was sold for around $113 per barrel as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
