Turkiye's BIST 100 index up at weekly open

ANKARA (AA) - Turkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 2,466.88 points on Monday, up 28.05 points, or 1.15%, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index fell 0.49% to end Friday at 2,438.84 points, with a daily trading volume of 39.2 billion Turkish liras ($2.39 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 16.3717 as of 10.05 a.m. local time (0705GMT), from 16.3020 at last week's close.

The euro/lira exchange rate stood at 17.6042 versus 17.5030, while a British pound traded for 20.6667 liras, up from 20.6590 at the last close.

Brent crude oil was sold for around $116.11 per barrel as of 10.05 a.m. local time, while an ounce price of gold was at $1,859.20.
