Türkiye's Borsa Istanbul climbs 2.76% to close Monday with new record

ISTANBUL (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index climbed 2.76% on Monday to close at a new all-time high of 5,661.10 points.

Starting the day at 5,568.43 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 151.94 points from previous close of 5,509.16.

The index's lowest value during the day was 5,568.43, while its daily high was 5,661.49.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 4.6 trillion Turkish liras ($246 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 114 billion Turkish liras ($6.08 billion).

During the day, 87 stocks on the index rose and 13 fell compared to the previous close.

The price of an ounce of gold was $1,830.10, while Brent crude oil was at around $86 per barrel as of 6.58 p.m. local time (1558GMT).
