Turkiye’s Borsa Istanbul closes Friday down
BIST 100 falls 14.51 points, or 0.73%, from previous close

ANKARA (AA) – Turkiye’s benchmark stock index ended Friday with losses to close at 1,983.18 points.
After starting the day at 2,006.79 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index lost 14.51 points, or 0.73%, from Thursday’s close of 1,997.69 points.
The index’s lowest value during the day was 1,976.68 points, while its daily high was 2,019.43 points.
The daily trading volume stood at 28.2 billion Turkish liras ($2.08 billion), while 37 stocks on the index rose and 61 fell compared to Thursday’s close.
The highest trading volumes were posted by private lender Garanti, iron and steel producer Eregli, and national flag carrier Turkish Airlines.
Shares of conglomerate Alarko Holding performed the best, up 6.51%, while stocks of telecommunications giant Turkcell saw the largest decline – 2.79%.
One ounce of gold traded for $1,801.00 by the day’s end, down from $1,816.50 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul’s Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.
The price of Brent crude oil was up 1.22% to $89.19 per barrel as of 6.26 p.m. local time (1526GMT).
