Türkiye's Borsa Istanbul closes Wednesday with gains

ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index Borsa Istanbul closed with gains on Wednesday, up 0.93% to 2,525.20 points.

Starting the day at 2,514.43 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 23.24 points from the previous close of 2,501.96.

During midweek trading, the BIST 100 hovered between 2,499.12 and 2,527.46 points, as 61 stocks rose, 35 fell, and four were flat compared to the previous close.

Finishing the day with a market value of around 2 trillion Turkish liras ($115 billion), the benchmark index posted a daily trading volume of 25.6 billion Turkish liras ($1.7 billion).

An ounce of gold traded for $1,727.55 by market close, up from $1,712 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude was around $107.06 per barrel as of 6 p.m. local time (1500GMT) on Wednesday.
