Türkiye's Borsa Istanbul down at midweek's close

BIST 100 index sheds over 67 points by Wednesday's end

ISTANBUL (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Wednesday at 3,198.16 points, down 2.07% from the previous close.

Starting the day at 3,254.77 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 67.48 points from the previous close.

The index's lowest value during the day was 3,198.16 points, while its daily high was 3,283.94.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 2.55 trillion Turkish liras ($138.47 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 50.64 billion Turkish liras ($2.73 billion).

During the day, 20 stocks on the index rose and 80 fell from the previous close.

The price of an ounce of gold was $1,663.85, while Brent crude oil was around $87.06 per barrel as of 6.26 p.m. local time (1526GMT).
