Turkiye's Borsa Istanbul down over 5% at close

ISTANBUL (AA) – Turkiye's benchmark stock index closed the day at 1,979.83 points on Tuesday, down 5.08% from the previous close.

Starting the day at 2,082.81 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 105.93 points from Monday's close of 2,085.76 points.

The price of one ounce of gold was $1,813.60 by market close.

The price of Brent crude oil was around $87.50 per barrel as of 6.30 p.m. local time (1530GMT).
