Türkiye's Borsa Istanbul hits record high at close

BIST 100 index rises 0.31% at midweek’s close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Wednesday at 4,977.64 points, hitting a new record high closing level, up 0.31% from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 15.16 points from Tuesday’s close.

The index's lowest value during the day was 4,922.88, while its daily high was 4,988.68.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 4 trillion Turkish liras ($215.45 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 120.3 billion Turkish liras ($6.5 billion).

During the day, 70 stocks on the index rose and 28 fell compared to the previous close.

The price of an ounce of gold was $1,766.05, while Brent crude oil sold at around $86.60 per barrel as of 7.03 p.m. local time (1403GMT).
