Turkiye’s Borsa Istanbul up at close

ISTANBUL (AA) – Turkiye’s benchmark stock index was up 1.35% to end Thursday at 2,450.84 points.

Starting the day at 2,422.80 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index earned 32.74 points from the previous close of 2,418.10 points.

The index’s lowest value during the day was 2,421.15 points, while its daily high was 2,455.73 points.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 1.98 trillion Turkish liras ($121.9 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 39.16 billion Turkish liras ($2.39 billion).

During the fourth transaction day of the week, 73 stocks on the index rose, 23 fell, and four were unchanged compared to the previous close.

Automotive firm Karsan was the best performer of the day with its shares up 9.97%, while real investment trust Kizilbuk GYO saw the biggest drop, losing 9.95%.

The price of an ounce of gold was $1,845.37, while Brent crude oil sold at around $113.95 per barrel as of 6.27 p.m. local time (1527GMT).
