Türkiye's Borsa Istanbul up at close

ANKARA (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Monday at 2,548.49 points, up 1.27% from last week's close.

After starting the week at 2,521.17 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 31.93 points from the previous close.

The index's lowest value during the day was 2,520.84, while its daily high was 2,553.13.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 2 trillion Turkish liras ($114.6 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 28.4 billion Turkish liras ($1.6 billion).

During the day, 65 stocks on the index rose, 33 fell, and two were flat compared to the previous close.

The price of an ounce of gold was $1,714.65, while Brent crude oil sold at around $100 per barrel as of 7.10 p.m. local time (1610GMT).
