Türkiye's Borsa Istanbul up at Friday close

ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index ended Friday at 2.434,02 points, up 0.35% from Thursday's close.

Starting the day at 2,424.38 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 8.46 points from the previous close of 2,425.56 points.

The index's lowest value during the day was 2,422.79, while its daily high was 2,439.83.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 1.9 trillion Turkish liras ($113 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 8.7 billion liras ($500 million).

During the day, 55 stocks on the index rose, 37 fell, and the remaining was unchanged compared to the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul was open for half-day trading on Friday before going into a break due to the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha.
