Türkiye's Borsa Istanbul up at Friday's open

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 3,154.93 points on Friday, up 0.58%, or 18.16 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 2.5% to end Thursday at a record high of 3,136.77 points, with a daily trading volume of 71.7 billion liras ($4 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose slightly to 18.1797 as of 10.15 a.m. local time (0715GMT), versus 18.1700 at the previous close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate decreased to 18.1042 from 18.1570, while a British pound traded for 21.4363 Turkish liras, down from 21.5580.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $100.72 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was at $1,767.3.
