BIST 100 index gains around 9.7 points at opening session versus previous close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 2,558.23 points on Tuesday, up by 0.38%, or 9.74 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 1.27% to 2,548.49 points at Monday's close, with a daily trading volume of 28.4 billion Turkish liras ($1.6 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 17.8574 as of 10.20 a.m. local time (0720GMT) from 17.8350 at the previous close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate decreased to 17.2563 from 18.2710, while a British pound traded for 21.5017 Turkish liras, down from 21.5720 at the previous close.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $102.03 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,724.8.
