Türkiye's Borsa Istanbul up at open

ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 2,879.48 points on Monday, up by 0.53%, or 15.23 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was down 0.15% to 2,864.25 points at Friday's close, with a daily trading volume of 50.1 billion liras ($2.8 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate fell to 17.9370 as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT) from 17.9470 at the previous close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate decreased to 18.3864 from 18.3980, while a British pound traded for 21.7463 Turkish liras, down from 21.7800 at the previous close.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $97.25 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,807.15.
