Türkiye's Borsa Istanbul up at open

BIST 100 index gains around 5.2 points from previous close

ISTANBUL (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened the week at 3,452.15 points on Thursday, up 0.15% or 5.19 points from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 0.59% at the midweek's close of 3,446.96 points with a daily trading volume of 72.88 billion Turkish liras ($3.99 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 18.2550 as of 07.53 a.m. local time (0653GMT), versus 18.2406 at the previous close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate decreased to 18.1890 from 18.2392, while a British pound traded for 21.0160 Turkish liras, down from 21.1230.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $94.03 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was at $1,697.25.
