Türkiye's Borsa Istanbul up at open

ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index BIST 100 opened the week at 3,202.77 points on Monday, up 0.72% or 22.78 points from the previous close.

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 18.5634 as of 07.53 a.m. local time (0453GMT), versus 18.5200 at the previous close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate was up to 18.2482 from 18.1600, while a British pound traded for 20.6532 Turkish liras, down from 20.7050.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $87.25 per barrel, up 2.48%, while the price of an ounce of gold stood at $1,664.10.

Investors are now focusing on the OPEC+ meeting on Oct. 5, when the group is expected to trim output in November in line with its demand forecast. The group had agreed to cut production by 100,000 barrels per day in October.
