Türkiye's stock exchange rallies to record close on Tuesday

ANKARA (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index surged 4.60% to close Tuesday at an all-time high of 4,780.74 points.

After starting the day at 4,566.81 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 210.42 points from Monday's close of 4,570.32 points.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 3.9 trillion Turkish liras ($207.3 billion) by close, with a daily trading volume of 125 billion liras ($6.7 billion).

One ounce of gold traded at $1,745.25 as of 6.17 p.m. local time (1517GMT), while the price of Brent crude oil was at $89.23 per barrel.
