Two PKK terrorists killed in eastern Turkey

SIIRT and VAN, Turkey (AA) - Security forces killed two PKK terrorists in Siirt province, southeastern Turkey, a military source said Tuesday.

An operation was conducted in Eruh, a rural district of the province, the source said on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on talking to the media.

Meanwhile on Tuesday, two martyred village guards were buried following a funeral service in Turkey’s eastern province of Van.

The two village guards were martyred on Sunday by PKK terrorists.

The PKK -- also listed as a terrorist organization by the U.S. and the EU -- resumed its decades-old armed campaign in July last year.

Since then, more than 600 security personnel have been martyred and over 7,000 PKK terrorists killed.
