UK: Hundreds show unity in Westminster Bridge vigil

LONDON (AA) – Hundreds of people came together on London’s Westminster Bridge to hold a minute of silence to remember the victims of last week’s terror attack that killed 4 people.

Representatives of police, emergency workers and communities from different religious background met on the bridge to condemn terrorism and laid flowers to memorials Wednesday afternoon.

“Love for all, hatred for none,” a banner carried by some Muslim men read.

Muslim school children carried signs reading “Islam says no to terror” and “Islam means peace” before laying flowers on memorials in memory of those killed.

Faith leaders from Muslim, Christian and Jewish communities stood side-by-side in a show of solidarity and unity, condemning the deadly attack.

Last week, Khalid Masood killed pedestrians on the bridge when he mowed them down, before stabbing a police officer who was on duty in front of the parliament.

Terrorist organization Daesh claimed the attack since, but the British authorities said there was no evidence linking him to Daesh or Al Qaeda.
