Ukraine's Zelenskyy thanks Finland for support against Russia

WARSAW (AA) – Ukrainian president on Wednesday thanked Finland for providing support against Russia.

The more pressure is put on Russia, the sooner the result can be seen, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during a joint press conference with his Finnish counterpart Sauli Niinisto in the capital Helsinki.

“I think this year will be decisive for us, for Europe, for Ukraine, and for victory," Zelenskyy added. "Thank you, Finland. We thank everyone who supports us."

The president said that Finland was among the first countries to provide the support Kyiv needed.

"First of all, we are partners. Secondly, we will hold a powerful summit which is important for the Scandinavian countries," Zelenskyy continued, adding that the attendees will discuss regional security and ways to reinforce it, as well as defense capacities.

Finnish President Niinisto stressed that his country will continue supporting Ukraine.

"Our 15th military support package is ready and I am sure there will be a 16th," the president added.
