Poroshenko accused of high treason, financing terrorism in occupied Donbas

KYIV, Ukraine (AA) - A Ukrainian court ruled on Wednesday to confiscate the passport of the country's former President Petro Poroshenko.
The Pechersk District Court of the capital Kyiv made the decision after it rejected the prosecutor’s request for a bail of 1 billion Hryvnia ($35.2 million) or having Poroshenko remanded into custody.
The former president is accused of high treason and financing separatist terrorism in the occupied Donbas region.
Poroshenko, who was living abroad, flew back to Ukraine on Monday.
