BERLIN (AA) - Death toll in the western German town of Hanau from an armed attack on two cafes rose to 9, including Turkish citizens after a person succumbed to injuries at the hospital.

The special operations team raided a home of a person who is considered to be the perpetrator and found the body of two people, including the perpetrator who opened fire late Wednesday on two cafes, German press agency DPA reported, citing a police spokesperson.

Therefore, the death toll rose to 11 following the attack in Hanau, located near Frankfurt.

According to the information received, although not officially confirmed, five Turkish citizens lost their lives.

Hanau is located around 20 kilometers (12 miles) east of Frankfurt and has a population of nearly 100,000.
