IZMIR, Turkey (AA) - A hand-made bomb was exploded on Thursday morning in the country’s western province of Izmir, injuring seven people, a statement by Office Of Chief Public Prosecutor in the province said.
The blast occurred at a garbage dumpster in Buca district at around 08.00 am local time [0500GMT] when a shuttle bus of a Kiriklar F-type prison carrying prison personnel was passing through the area, the statement read.
The explosion damaged the shuttle bus and nearby vehicles.
The driver of the vehicle was among the seven personnel injured, according to the statement.
Six slightly injured were discharged from the hospital while the remaining one, who got injuries in the foot, had a surgery.
An investigation into the incident is in progress.
