No group claims responsibility for attack

ASH-SHADDADI, Syria/ANKARA (AA) - A car-bomb explosion targeted a U.S. military convoy in Syria's northwestern Al-Hasakah province on Monday, according to local sources.
The blast struck as the convoy was passing in the area near a checkpoint operated by the YPG/PKK terrorist group, the sources said.
One U.S. soldier was injured while five YPG/PKK terrorist were killed in the attack, the sources said.
The U.S.-led international coalition, for its part, confirmed there were no U.S. casualties in the attack.
"We can confirm a combined U.S. and Syrian partner force convoy was involved in an apparent VBIED [vehicle-borne improvised explosive device] attack today in Syria," Operation Inherent Resolve (OIR) of the U.S.-led international coalition said on Twitter.
"There were no U.S. casualties. We will continue to review the situation and provide updates as appropriate."
There was no claim of responsibility for the attack.
On Wednesday, four Americans, including two soldiers, were killed in an apparent suicide attack claimed by Daesh in the northern city of Manbij.
