Turkish football club Galatasaray to take on Neftci in UEFA Europa League 2nd qualifying round

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkish football club Galatasaray will play against Azerbaijan’s Neftci in the UEFA Europa League 2nd qualifying round, as announced in Monday’s draw.

The draw for the Europa League 2nd qualifying round was made at UEFA headquarters in Switzerland.

Galatasaray will visit Neftci in the first and only leg on Sept. 17.

The tournament's second qualifying round will be single leg.

The winning team will advance to the Europa League's third qualifying round.

Neftci from the capital Baku completed the 2019-20 Azerbaijan's premier league in the second spot to qualify for the Europa League's 1st qualifying round.

Neftci eliminated North Macedonian opponents Shkupi with a 2-1 win to advance to the second round.

Neftci has been Azerbaijan’s champions eight times.

They last claimed the crown in 2013.
