UPDATE - Reports of explosion on London underground train

LONDON (AA) - Local media in the U.K. are reporting that the British security forces are treating Friday’s blast on a London Underground train as a terrorist incident.

However, Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson told broadcaster Sky News his “information was limited and it is really is important not to speculate at the moment”.

Emergency services rushed to a metro station in west London at 8.20 a.m. on Friday morning after reports of an explosion. Some media reports claimed the source of the explosion was a bucket with protruding wires.

Friday’s incident took place at Parsons Green station on the U.K. capital’s District Line.

Local media have reported at least three people being treated for facial burns.

Metropolitan Police advised people to avoid the area. Footage from the scene also showed passengers being led off a train by police.

The capital's ambulance service said it had sent a special hazardous area response team to the scene, amid reports of a white substance being found.
