UPDATE - Turkish stocks end Monday 0.75% down
BIST 100 index falls 760.46 points from last week's close, USD/TRY exchange rate stands around 5.67

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index ended the day down 0.75% to close at 101,088.73 points on Monday.
Starting the week at 101,812.29 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index dropped 760.46 points from 101,849.19 points at Friday's close -- the highest weekly close of the past 18 weeks.
On a weekly basis the benchmark index posted a 4.89% hike last week. At the beginning of this year, the BIST 100 stood around 89,000 points.
During Monday's trading, the BIST 100 hovered between 100,846.81 points and 102,146.95 points -- 27 stocks on the index rose, 66 fell, and seven were flat compared to the previous close.
Closing the day with a market value of nearly 673 billion Turkish liras ($120 billion), the benchmark index posted a daily trading volume of 4.9 billion Turkish liras ($862 million).
By market capitalization, Turkish conglomerate Koc Holding ($8.36 billion) and private lenders Garanti BBVA ($7.07 billion) and Akbank ($6.91 billion) were the top companies of BIST 100.
Shares of national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, Garanti BBVA, and state-run lender Halkbank saw the highest trading volumes on Monday -- accounting for around 39% of the benchmark index's total trade volume.
Shares of real estate investment trust Ozderici (OZGYO) showed the best performance -- up 17.39% -- as stocks of automotive manufacturer Karsan (KARSN) did the worst, falling 5%.
An ounce of gold sold for $1,425.70 at the daily close in Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, versus $1,437.15 at the previous close.
The price of Brent oil was $63.16 per barrel as of 6 p.m. local time (1500GMT) on Monday -- with a day range of $62.77 to $64.02.
At the beginning of 2019, a barrel of Brent oil sold for around $53.
