Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 rises around 2.5 points from previous close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index closed Tuesday at 1,378.37 points, rising 0.18% from the previous close.
After starting the day at 1,380.73 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 2.46 points over Monday's close at 1,375.91 points.
During the day, the index's value hovered between 1,352.74 points and 1,386.36 points after 32 stocks on the index rose, 64 fell and four remained flat compared to Monday.
The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 984 million Turkish liras ($120.5 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 19.2 billion Turkish liras ($2.4 billion).
The highest trading volumes were posted by iron and steel manufacturer Eregli Demir Celik, private lender Garanti BBVA, and iron, steel and coke manufacturer Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik.
Wheel manufacturer Jantsa was the best performer, with its shares up 5.41%, while stocks of frozen foods producer Kerevitas dropped the most, 8.56%.
One ounce of gold was traded for $1,728.00 by market close, down from $1,742.55 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.
The price of Brent crude oil was around $63.66 per barrel as of 6.07 p.m. local time (1507GMT) on Tuesday.
