BIST 100 gains over 6 points, closing day with market value of nearly $134B

ANKARA (AA) – Turkiye's benchmark stock index rose 0.28% to close at 2,465.71 points on Monday.
After starting the day at 2,462.96 points, the BIST 100 index climbed 6.6 points from Friday's close of 2,458.72 points.
Ending the day with a market value of around 2 trillion Turkish liras (nearly $134 billion), the index posted a daily trading volume of 38.9 billion Turkish liras ($2.58 billion).
During the day’s trading, the index hovered between 2,441.59 and 2,480.57 points – 46 stocks on the index rose and 53 fell, compared to the previous close.
Shares of national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, glass maker Sise, and steel producer Kardemir posted the highest trading volumes.
Ceramic and tile producer Qua Granite Hayal Yapi posted the largest gain, with its shares up 9.92%, while conglomerate Deva Holding suffered the most, going down 9.23%.
One ounce of gold traded for $1,860.00 by market close, down from $1,909.00 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.
The price of Brent crude oil fell to $106.45 per barrel as of 7 p.m. local time (1600GMT), down 5.31% from the previous close.
