By Michael Hernandez
WASHINGTON (AA) – The U.S. State Department said Wednesday its counterterrorism coordinator will travel to Turkey this week.
The agency did not say when Ambassador Nathan Sales would arrive in Ankara, only that it would be the week of June 10.
Sales will hold meetings with his Turkish counterparts on an array of topics, including the repatriation of foreign terrorist fighters, border security and countering the PKK, the State Department said in a statement.
The PKK is a designated terror group in the U.S. and Turkey.
Sales will also discuss stemming terrorist finance and international efforts to defeat Daesh and al-Qaeda, it added.
