US export, import prices rise lower than estimates in June

Import fuel prices have not declined on monthly basis since December 2021, says Bureau of Labor Statistics

ANKARA (AA) - US export and import prices rose lower than market expectations in June, according to data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics on Friday.

Export prices increased 0.7% in June. The market estimate was a 1.2% gain after it jumped 2.9% in May.

On an annual basis, prices for exports rose 18.2% last month.

US import prices rose 0.2% in June, below the market expectation of a 0.7% gain. They increased 0.5% in May.

Annually, import prices rose 10.7% in June.

“Prices for import fuel rose 5.7% in June, after increasing 6.5% the previous month. Import fuel prices have not declined on a monthly basis since December 2021,” read a statement.
