US goods trade deficit down 5.6% in June

ANKARA (AA) - The US' international goods trade deficit fell 5.6% in June from the previous month, the US Commerce Department's Census Bureau said on Wednesday.

The goods trade deficit came in at $98.2 billion in June, down approximately $5.9 billion from $104 billion in May.

Exports of goods rose $4.4 billion from the previous month to reach $181.5 billion last month, while imports of goods stood at $279.7 billion, $1.5 billion less than May.

Wholesale inventories in June came in at $896 billion, up 1.9% from the previous month. On an annual basis, they were up 25.6% from the same month of last year.

In June, retail inventories stood at $723 billion, up 2% from the month before. They recorded a gain of 19.9% year-on-year.
