US Navy rescues 2 Iranian seamen: Oman

ANKARA (AA) – A US Navy ship rescued two Iranian seamen after their boat broke down in the middle of the sea, according to Omani state media on Wednesday.

The Oman News Agency said the two Iranian nationals were aboard a wooden boat that suffered a “technical failure,” noting that a “US Navy ship near the site rescued them.”

The two Iranians were transferred by an Omani helicopter to a hospital in the capital Muscat for treatment.

Three other individuals, whose nationalities were not disclosed, were also injured and transferred to the Sultan Qaboos Port in Muscat, the agency said.
