US: Robbery-related stabbings kill 4 in California

ANKARA (AA) - At least four people were killed and two wounded late on Wednesday in a series of robbery-induced stabbings across Orange County in the U.S. state of California.

''GGPD [Garden Grove Police Department] working multiple scenes with several homicides. Multiple robberies and stabbings by suspect. Suspect in custody,'' officials said on Twitter.

According to the police at the city of Garden Grove, the stabbing and robbery spree began at an apartment complex and moments later a bakery in Garden Grove at around 4 p.m. local time (GMT2300).

Police said the suspect who was driving a silver Mercedes later returned to the apartment complex where he allegedly stabbed two people -- with one dying at the scene, the other dying from his wounds at a hospital.

The stabbings continued at a gas station, fast-food restaurant and store by 6 p.m. (0100GM) until the suspect was finally was taken into police custody.

Santa Ana PD and GGPD are jointly investigating the incidents.
