US soldier faces attempt to murder charge in Japan

ANKARA (AA) - A U.S. soldier has been charged with attempt to murder and physical assault in Japan.

A 21-year old marine Kahsai Tyree Hill, was arrested in May after after being accused of physically assaulting a taxi driver in Japanese capital Tokyo.

He has now been rearrested in an attempt to murder case, on a female Self-Defense Force (SDF) officer, daily Japan Today reported.

Hill was posted as a trainee cadet at U.S. military camp in Shizuoka province.

He had assaulted a taxi driver and did not pay the fare, after he reached to his hotel in Shinjuku on May 26, according to police.

Later in the day, the soldier allegedly choked the 19-year-old SDF officer, in a restaurant in Tokyo’s Shinjuku district.

Hill, however, has denied that there was intention of murder in his act.

The report said the U.S. soldier has assaulted three more men, one after another in Shinjuku and Shibuya districts.
