US stock market opens higher

NEW YORK (AA) - The stock market opened higher on Tuesday as technology companies' shares rebounded from downfall.

The Dow added 43 points to start trading at 21,279 points and the S&P 500 rose 6 points to 2,436 points.

The Nasdaq increased 37 points to begin the day at 6,213 points. The index fell 146 points, or 2.3 percent, in the past two trading days -- on Friday and Monday.

Tech stocks have begun recovering early Tuesday. At the opening bell, Apple and Microsoft shares increased 1.1 percent each.

Google's parent company Alphabet saw its stock price rise by 1.6 percent, while Amazon and Facebook shares climbed 1.7 percent and 1.5 percent, respectively.
