US stock market opens lower
Decline in shares of financial and tech firms drag indexes down

NEW YORK (AA) - The U.S. stock market opened lower Friday.
The Dow Jones lost 12 points to begin the day at 22,346 points, and the S&P 500 fell 2 points to open at 2,497 points.
The Nasdaq decreased 19 points to start the last trading day of the week at 6,403 points.
Decline in shares of financial firms and technology companies dragged the indexes down.
Citigroup saw its shares fall by 0.8 percent at the opening, while Apple's stock price decreased by 1 percent
