US stock market opens mixed after 3-day losing streak
Nasdaq falls 47 points, or 0.44%

ANKARA (AA) - Major indices on the US stock market opened mixed on Monday after a three-day losing streak last week.
The Dow Jones rose 166 points, or 0.57%, to open at 29,463 at 9.36 a.m. EDT. The S&P 500 added 7 points, or 0.20%, to 3,646.
The tech-heavy Nasdaq, on the other hand, fell 47 points, or 0.44%, to start the first trading day of the week at 10,605.
The VIX volatility index, also known as the fear index, jumped 5.1% to 32.96. The 10-year US Treasury yield was flat at 3.888%.
The dollar index rose 0.27% to 113.10, hovering near its highest level in 20 years, while the euro fell 0.46% to $0.9696 against the greenback.
Precious metals were on the decline with gold falling 1.3% to $1,672, and silver plummeting 2.1% to $19.72.
Oil prices were on the rise with global oil benchmark Brent crude trading at $98.20 per barrel for a 0.3% gain. US benchmark West Texas Intermediate was around $93.17 – up 0.6%.
