US stocks end lower after Powell's speech
Russia-Ukraine war continues to affect markets

ISTANBUL (AA) - Major US stock indexes ended in negative territory Monday following Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell’s speech to the National Association of Business Economists in Washington, D.C.
Powell said the Fed is committed to restoring price stability, even by raising interest rates more "aggressively."
Meanwhile, the Russia-Ukraine war continues to impact markets, especially by increasing commodity prices.
The blue chip Dow Jones Industrial Average ended down 0.58%, or 201.9 points, at 34,552.
The S&P 500 lost 1.94 points, or 0.04%, to close at 4,461.
The tech-heavy Nasdaq was off 55.38 points, or 0.4%, at 13,838.
