US trade deficit for goods plummets 8.1% to $84.6 billion in March

ISTANBUL (AA) - The US trade deficit for goods plummeted 8.1% to $84.6 billion in March, according to data released Wednesday.

The trade deficit, which is the difference between imported and exported goods, saw a decline of $7.4 billion from $92 billion in February, the Commerce Department’s Census Bureau said in a report.

While exports of goods for March were $172.7 billion, which is $4.9 billion more than in February.

Imports of goods stood at $257.3 billion last month -- $2.5 billion less than the previous month's imports.

The figure for February was revised to $92 billion, from $91.5 billion.
