Uzbek court finds 208 anti-Soviet regime Uzbek intellectuals not guilty
Soviet administration accused these intellectuals of opposing regime, forming armed gang, armed rebellion in 1930s

TASHKENT (AA) - Uzbekistan's top court acquitted 208 Uzbek intellectuals who were imprisoned, banished, and killed in the former Soviet Union in 1930-1931 for being anti-regime on Wednesday.
The Supreme Court of Uzbekistan stated that the case concerning the acquittal of 208 intellectuals who were suppressed, transported to concentration camps, imprisoned, exiled, and killed without a court order in 1930-1931 was closed.
The statement said that the former Soviet administration accused these intellectuals of opposing the regime, forming an armed gang, armed rebellion, raids, and collaborating with foreign countries against the regime.
