Bollywood star is charged with killing protected blackbucks in 1998

JODHPUR, India (AA) - A court in India has fixed Jan. 18 as the date for the pronouncement of the verdict in Bollywood star Salman Khan's Arms Act case.
Chief Judicial Magistrate in Jodhpur, in the Rajasthan state, will announce the final verdict in a case in which Salman Khan, who is one of Bollywood’s biggest actors, face charges of illegal possession of arms and ammunition.
Last year, Salman Khan was acquitted of shooting and killing endangered animals. He was charged with killing two blackbucks, a protected species in Rajasthan, during a hunting trip in 1998.
The prosecution also argued in court that the actor was in possession of two firearms with an expired license.
He faces jail time of up to seven years.
