ANKARA (AA) - The international wildlife watchdog TRAFFIC launched a "Wildlife Trade Portal" on Thursday which allows people to search a wildlife trade incident database.
"The Wildlife Trade Portal is an interactive tool that displays TRAFFIC’s open-source wildlife seizure and incident data...The portal allows users to search the open-source area of TRAFFIC’s wildlife trade incident database and to filter the results," TRAFFIC said in a statement.
TRAFFIC is a leading non-governmental organization working globally on trade in wild animals and plants in the context of both biodiversity conservation and sustainable development.
The portal was developed with the support of Arcadia, a charitable fund founded by philanthropists Lisbet Rausing and Peter Baldwin, via the ReTTA project, the NGO added.
The platform also allows people who are interested in the wildlife field to upload their own related data to supplement the information the portal holds.
The Wildlife Trade Portal was opened following a virtual launch event.
