1 Israeli injured in car-ramming attack in occupied West Bank

ISTANBUL (AA) – An Israeli was seriously injured in a car-ramming attack in the occupied West Bank on Sunday, Israeli media said.

An army spokesperson said a Palestinian was shot dead at the Jit junction in the northern West Bank after he allegedly carried out a car attack.

The public broadcaster KAN said one person sustained serious injuries in the attack, which came amid rising tensions over Israel’s ongoing war in the Gaza Strip, where more than 66,000 Palestinians have been killed since Oct. 7, 2023.

Since October 2023, at least 1,046 Palestinians have been killed and more than 10,000 injured in the West Bank by Israeli forces and illegal settlers, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

In a landmark opinion last July, the International Court of Justice declared Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory illegal and called for the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
