10 people killed in clashes in western Ethiopia
38 other sustained injuries

Addis Ababa – Ethiopia (AA) - Ten people were killed in clashes in the western Ethiopian region of Benishangul Gumuz over the past couple of days, according to the regional Justice and Security Bureau head Dinsa Beyene.
Some 38 others sustained injuries in the clashes of which the causes are still being investigated, Fana Broadcasting Corporate quoted Beyene as saying.
Beyene said 46 people suspected of instigating the violence had been arrested.
The national army has been deployed to the Assossa, Sherkole and Maokomo areas where people could be seen in the streets brandishing machetes, clubs, and daggers.
Benishangul Gumuz regional state is considered a deeply pluralistic society like most areas in Ethiopia.
