DIYARBAKIR, Turkey (AA) – Turkish forces rounded up 11 PKK suspects in five provinces, security sources said on Friday.
The arrests were part of an operation targeting the terror group’s network in the southeastern Diyarbakir province’s Bismil district, said the sources, requesting anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to the media.
A large number of arms and ammunition, as well as materials used to make explosives, were also seized in the raids.
In its more than 35-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK – listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US, and the EU – has been responsible for the deaths of at least 40,000 people, including women, children, and infants.
