14 terrorists neutralized over last week in Turkey

ANKARA (AA) - A total of 14 PKK terrorists were “neutralized” in counter-terrorism operations carried out in Turkey on Nov. 20-27, according to the Interior Ministry.

Three terrorists were killed, nine were captured alive, and two surrendered in operations in southeastern provinces, said a ministry statement.

It said 1,645 operations were carried out against the terrorist organization in the last week by security forces.

In addition, the nationwide operations saw a total of 5,256 suspects - 1,291 terror suspects, 116 migrants, 3,849 suspects involved in drug and smuggling - being remanded in custody.

During the operations, over 3 tons of explosives, 45 guns,19 hand grenades and 11,929 ammunitions were seized.

More than 1,200 people, including security force personnel and civilians, have lost their lives since the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and EU -- resumed its decades-old armed campaign in July 2015.
