2 anti-Daesh coalition members killed in Syria

WASHINGTON (AA) - Two members of the U.S.-led anti-Daesh coalition in Syria were killed and five others were wounded by an improvised explosive device (IED), the U.S. military announced Friday.

"Wounded personnel received immediate care and are being evacuated for further medical treatment," Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF–OIR) said in a statement.

Further details about the attack have not been revealed the military can conduct an investigation, the statement added.

Coalition spokesman Col. Ryan Dillon told Anadolu Agency the nationalities of the deceased and the exact location of the attack would not be disclosed until families are informed.

But information obtained by Anadolu Agency from local sources indicate the attack occurred late Thursday near the city of Manbij.

There are approximately 2,000 American troops in the city.
