Local media says Taliban arrest two of their members on charges of firing over playing loud music in function

ISLAMABAD (AA) – A group of protesters in Afghanistan on Saturday claimed that at least two civilians were killed and 10 more injured when local Taliban opened fire at a wedding ceremony for playing loud music.

Carrying the victims’ bodies, the protesters staged a demonstration in the Sur Rod district of eastern Nangarhar province bordering Pakistan in the morning.

They said the incident took place in the district late last night when local Taliban members opened fire at the wedding party for allegedly playing loud music.

The local Pajhwok news has quoted local Taliban officials confirming the incident and reported that the Taliban's Amniyat Department has taken into custody two men in connection with the incident.

However, the Taliban's interim administration has not commented on the incident.

Separately, a landmine struck a passenger car in Nangarhar province's Sherzad district on Friday, killing at least two civilians and injuring six others.

Although there was no immediate claim of responsibility for the incident, the province has seen a spike in bombings and targeted killings, with ISIS/Daesh terrorists claiming responsibility.
